My Sony Ericsson W350 cell phone will not connect to my laptop via the USB port?

Have you installed PC Ericsson Suite? You will need to install it. You might have got it in a CD along with the mobile phone. If you haven't got any such CD, you can download it from Sony Ericsson website also.
After installing the suite, restart the PC and then try to transfer the music files. This will solve your problem.
 
The wire physically connects to the USB port and cell phone, but Sony Media Manager does not detect the cell phone connection. As a result, I cannot transfer files to my cell phone. I am using an IBM T42 laptop. How do I fix this?
