    how to open an xls file?

    hi i don't know a lot about this.i have a work schedule i need to open and its an xls file.i have windows vista business on my computer.i downloaded Microsoft office service pack 1.yet it wont open.is that the wrong program. i don't have the money to buy the programs it suggests.so i downloaded that as a trial.what i am doing wrong or missing.plz help need to open it tonight..

    try opening the main file, then from their going into "File" then "Open" then directing to the file u want open

    xls is an Excel spreadsheet.

    You need Microsoft Excel.

    OpenOffice will be able to open that puppy up.

    Microsoft Office Service Pack 1 is an update to the full program, which you need to have

    xls files are opened with Microsoft Excel

    .xls are Microsoft Excel 2007 files. So u need Microsoft Excel 2007 to open it.
