Ok so my packard bell computer had some viruses on it so i tried to use the "smart restore" option on the computer and i dont know how, but ive ended up like this: when i start my computer it says "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter".
I know i should have a system disk but its been a while since i brought it i fear its long gone. So is there any way to get around this without the system disk or will i have to buy another one?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

You could possibly go to a friends house and download a copy of Windows XP on the internet

Then you could reboot everything, and the virus will be gone, but all your files and such will be deleted!

Did you leave a floppy disk in the floppy disk drive by any chance?

If not, then you are in trouble. You will need to get hold of an Windows installation CD or DVD to repair or reinstall Windows.
