2wd or 4wd for college truck?

I am going to buy a dodge ram 1500 truck for college i really like the vehicle and i found a great one that is everything i wanted.. but i it is 2wd i don't have a serious problem with it being 2wd but my friends are giving my heck about it... what do yall think? personal experience would be great

if you don't need 4wd, don't get it. its a waste of gas.

if you love drivin through the ruts then get a 4x4. they are definitly fun as hell.
