uploading custom ringtones to a telus HTC Touch dual/diamond without hacks?

I'm planning to buy either one but I want to know which one will allow me to upload ringtones without hacks since i don't wanna risk messing it up and i don't think my dad will buy an unlocked one.

I give you credit for thinking ahead, however, TELUS has prevented ringtone uploads on every phone they sell. You'll have to hack if you want your own tones to work. I don't recommend hacks because you may make your nice new phone into a paperweight. I can explain your 'unlocked' comment like this... CDMA phones are not locked to any specific carrier but each carrier has a list of ESNs that is in their inventory so you can't activate a phone from another provider.
