what program can i use to download videos from the internet?

i tried real player but it didnt download the whole video

i want to put them on my ipod so i can watch them on the road instead of on the computer...so i need a program to download the video and then il convert it to put it on my ipod

know of any download programs?
not using limewire or frostware

and if you need a site 2 convert it there is filsh.net...its kinda in german buut u just need to put in the url in the 1st box then in the next u click on the one with ipod video on it and click weiter...wen a box comes up clisk save then save it ..then it should come up on itunes if u have it
