buying a 3g iphone with no upgrade?

i have at&t and im not up for a upgrade for a while. My phone broke and they wont replace it. I want to get the iphone. So even thought im not up for a upgrade ( i know you need a 2 year contract to get one) would i still be able to get that phone? i know you would need to pay more for the phone. one place i heard 300 and another i heard 400.

what i am trying to say is that is there any way i can get the phone and the 2 year contract before my upgrade is up.

You have to call and ask. It doesn't say anywhere online except the 2 year upgrade price.
