well, for one, you shouldn't even have an ipod AND and an iphone. that totally defeats the purpose of the iphone. and i really hate how people with iphones always have to include that in their question. "will my iphone get damaged?" you can just say phone. it's not some miracle device.
but yes, it will get damaged.
