AL Central - Twins (basically the same team as last season's squad, but with an added year of experience)
    AL East - Red Sox
AL West - A's (in my view, it could go to Oakland or LAA, and the tiebreaker is I would rather see Oakland win)
AL Wild Card - Yankees (all that money spent won't be enough to surpass Boston, but a Wild Card will be theirs because midnight struck on Tampa during the World Series)

NL Central - Cubs (when the Reds are the second-best '09 team on paper, you know the division will be a cakewalk)
NL East - Phillies (if they don't repeat as World Series champions, it won't be easy to surround Hamels, Howard, Rollins, and Utley with good enough role players in the future, so it's "all or nothing" now)
NL West - Diamondbacks (this pick is based on Manny not returning to the division)
NL Wild Card - Mets (this is a "safe" pick because I don't know where Manny will end up)

    ALDS
Red Sox over A's (Oakland will be fortunate to win a game in this series)
Twins over Yankees (all that money, and the Yankees still won't reach the LCS)

    NLDS
Phillies over Diamondbacks (Arizona will miss Adam Dunn, strikeouts and all, in this series)
Mets over Cubs (the curse continues for yet another season)

    ALCS
Red Sox over Twins (like '07, the AL Central champion won't be able to finish off Boston after building a 3-1 series lead)

    NLCS
Phillies over Mets (see note on Philadelphia winning the NL East)

    World Series
Phillies over Red Sox in 6 (if AL wins the All-Star Game) or 7 (if NL wins the All-Star Game)
