Why do people say they want nothing to do with Christianity, then complain

for not knowing better Christians? If you really stop and think about it, does this statement really make sense? How can it not be completely contradictory? It seems that most people's perception of this religion is based (almost) entirely on negative first impressions and no real in-depth study of the belief itself. Also, keep in mind that everyone is a hypocrite in one way or another in their lives (to some degree), and will let you down due to their human nature (this is NOT to excuse bad behavior, religious or not - we are all still human).

I've read the whole Bible a few times. I had courses in college on the bible. I was raised Baptist. My impression on Christianity is not a shallow first impression.
