im joining the USAF and i wanna see the world. i wanna know how it works. i know you get to travel in the air force i would like to know the places you can go and how you do it.

If you like the desert, join the military.
You will get to travel there frequently and for long periods of time.

Iraq-210 Days
Saudi Arabia 190 Days
Kuwait 180 Days

Other than that, I have been to

-Korea (2 months total- training for the desert)
-Ireland (5-12 hours total flight layover to and from the middle east)
-Germany (Stayed in a hotel for 1 night on the way to middle east)
-Japan (2 hour flight layover from korea training)
-Alaska (3 Years only 1.5 years actually there between deployments)
-Random Places in the US for training

So Yeah I've been many places (probably more than I have listed) but MOST of all of that travel had to do with going to the middle east, and as you can see just ONE of my deployments took place over more days than all of my other travels combined.

Make sure you do your research and make the right choice. If you think your enlistment will be filled with vacations to Europe, Japan, wherever else you dream of going, I can say with alot of certainty that you will be disappointed.

You travel by being deployed or being sent on TDY (military business trips). Also if you're stationed overseas you can elect to travel to other countries during long weekends or vacations, etc, since it's cheaper.
