I have one of those dell bluetooth modules +card readers in a dell computer. I tried transferring it to a new computer. (it hooked in via usb on the motherboard) yet it doesn't seem to want to recognize it. Is there something that prevents it from being used on a non dell computer?
Thanks for the answers so far. I did attempt to install the drivers but the blue led on the module that indicates its on wont come illuminate. So the drivers would not install until I could get that light to come one. It doesn't show up in device manager either.

you have to install the drivers for it .. it should be fully functional as USB is a industry standard, not a dell standard .. sounds like your PC just doesn't know how to communicate with it ..

go to dell.com, plug in your dell service tag .. go to the drivers dl section and see if you can find drivers for it .. the "dell" drivers may not work so see if you can find a make and model .. go to the manufacturer's website and dl the drivers ..

hope this helps!

Bluetooth is universally compatible, as is USB. All you'd need are the drivers for any programs/software that came with the module/dongle.
