Last night I forgot my cellphone outside and it was raining. It was still on, still working and this morning when I went to text, it turned off. When I powered it up, I got this "Use Genuine Battery" message and it was powering down counting down from 10. If anybody has had this and fixed it, what did you do? I have no house phone, this is on my only phone and I'm not due for an upgrade till May.

THere are two batteries in a cell phone. One is internal and the other is the removable main battery. When the main chargeable battery is dead then the main disconnects to hold all the stored info like numbers and so on. When that happens the battery low message appears and when dead the replace battery appears. Use genuine battery is the generic message to try and get you to purchase the manufacturers battery and keep the money in the family so to speak. So charge it up and you should be fine.
