I just swapped my Yamaha (which did not have HDMI) receiver and purchased a new Harmon Kardon (which does have HDMI but does not support the audio for some reason) but sounds great with optical. Here is my issue: I was watching No Country For Old Men on my HD Dish and there was a portion of the movie during an action sequence that sounded so good with my Klipsch surround sound system I must have replayed that scene five times. Well, I just purchased a Blu-Ray player (Samsung 1500) and No Country For Old Men and the sound (which is also connected optically) is totally different. The sound is not broken up by channels and is pouring out evenly through all speakers. I've checked the Dolby settings on the receiver and the Blu-Ray. What am I missing or does HD Dish broadcast better audio than the Blu-Ray player?
