Religion and society question from school?

Describe what the biblical creation narratives (Genesis 1 and 2) and any other relevant material tell us about the Catholics understanding of “One God, the Father the Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth.”

This question is hard to answer. Someone please give me a start. Thanks in advance

    Any help greatly appreciated

Determining God's title of "Creator" from reading Genesis 1 - 2 is pretty easy seeing as how the main focus of the chapters is on the creation of the universe. Just start listing off everything He creates.

As for the other two titles, they're a little trickier. God is seen as a Father in His creation of Adam, as Luke refers to Adam as a "son of God" (Luke 3:38). Also, He is "Almighty" based on the fact that everything in existence came from His speaking it into being.

Finally, "One God" is the hardest to pull from the verses, made harder by the usage of the divine "we" in the passages, but one can infer from Gen 1:2--"The earth was formless and void"--that before God, there was nothing apart from Him. He is "One God" as there was nothing before Him, and there have been no other Gods after Him.

Hope this is a decent start.
