Is it easy for a guitar player to pick up a bass and start playing?

i've been playing the guitar for a while

i kinda want to start playing bass too

would it be easy for me to just pick it up and start playing
and look at some bass tabs?

yes i do know that it only has E A D G strings

im saying if i just look at the TABS of the songs will it be pretty easy

I found Bass to be easier to play then guitar

I play both but.....bass is a little different. Since you already play guitar it shouldn't be too bad
