Do I need the internet package to access facebook for blackberry if I have wi-fi?

I want to use the facebook program for my blackberry phone. I can use the internet through wi-fi, but I cannot access the blackberry facebook program. Do I need the internet plan to use that program? I would rather use that program than go into my browser and type in www.facebook.com.
