dog wandering around?

my nine year old dog never sits or lies down anymore he just wanders aimlessly round the house

is there somthing wrong with him
he gets walked twice a day

he is a golden retriever
he also has a brother who is very active

9 for a dog is getting on a bit, although he could have plenty of lives left in him

if he sits still for a long period maybe he is achey or in pain maybe?
my mums dog was the same

What breed is he? Maybe he has just suddenly got more energy? Have you changed his diet because that can cause the energy increase?
