Can I keep my car and file bankruptcy?

I may have to file bankruptcy although I can still make payments on my car, which is co-signed with one of my parents. My question is, if I file bankruptcy, can I still keep my car and continue payments?

My mother leases her cars from a local Chevy dealer and she filed bankruptcy - she still has her 2008 Malibu. : )

I believe it all depends on if they think you are still able to pay your payment for your vehicle.

Yes you can keep your car. Going through the same thing myself. Although I share a car with my parents. My Attorney said as long as you keep up the payments people can almost always keep the car.
