Do people still believe its the persons choice to be gay?

Inspired by a response to a question. But seriously I know a lot of people who are gay and that's how they are, they did not chose to be gay. I know someone who was kicked out of his house for being gay. Through what I have seen its not a choice to be gay, just as I don't chose to be straight I just am. There have been many psych studies that support this idea. So do people still believe that a person chooses to be gay?
