my definition? Everyone knows "american cars" are dodge, ford & chevy I don't think I need to explain this

Myself buy Nissan Cars we are on our 5th and when we change soon we are going for Nissan again.We have owned many other makes but found these to be the best for us.

Chevy, dodge, ford = make parts/entire cars in Mexico.

Dodge Ram = Made entirely in Mexico.

Ford Probe = Based on a Mazda platform.

Dodge Stealth = Mitsubishi 3000GTO with different body. Keeps the Mitsubishi engine.

Eagle Talon = Mitsubishi Eclipse with different body. Keeps the Mitsubishi engine.

Chevy Aveo = Korean Daewoo Kalos, in different body.

My Chevy Camaro? Most of the GM direct parts I get, say made in China, or Made in Mexico (most common).

So the question is...what's your definition of American?

My personal favorite make is Toyota. I've had 4 of those so far, and they've done pretty well for me.

Edit, and yeah...you do need to explain it, seeing as your top "American cars" are hardly American at all, lol. Go buy a Dodge ram, look up the VIN data, and when you see Country of Origin: Mexico...I wonder how American it'll be....

I always believed that you should buy a car from your own country. Even if an import is a more reliable car, you are putting your money into another country. look at the state of american auto makers now!
