Hello everyone. I haven't traveled on my own yet, always with family, so I need some help planning a budget for a week long trip to San Francisco. I am planning on either couch surfing or staying in a hostel, to help reduce or eliminate accommodation costs.

1 person.
Driving from Seattle to San Francisco-13 hours
Gas Round Trip-$125.00
Max accommodations-$150
Shopping-$300
Food-???????????????
Sightseeing/Tours/Alcatraz-????????????
Am I missing anything???????????

Help me please! I am not going alone-either with my younger brother or a friend, but I need to calculate costs for myself.

Any ideas or tips are appreciated. Thank you!!!!

I just went to San Francisco last summer with my friend. It was so much fun, you'll have a great time. Sightseeing is pretty expensive. We went to Alcatraz and that was probably around $40. Since your driving you also have to think about parking. Free parking is hard to find in San Fran, i'm not even sure I saw any. I also recommend kayaking in the bay that's about $70 per person. Try not to eat at any where too fancy. I also recommend getting a pass to ride on all the public transportation even though your driving it saves a lot of money and is fun. Can't remember anything else.

Good Luck!
