Anyone who know about cell phones(unlocked)?

I've been searching all over online for an UNLOCKED sidekick. I managed to find a couple at a reasonable price; but then i came across a question that's been bugging me.

If i go to a t-mobile store and buy a phone there-or take one that i bought online-, will they be able to unlock it for me?
