There are many organizations that locate, collect, and deliver surplus food to agencies and organizations that provide food to people in need. The roles of these companies are often attacked as a band-aid solution at best and at worst a contributor to the forces that perpetuate poverty. They are also accused of letting the gov't off the hook.
These organizations have made concerted advocacy and public relations efforts concerning its mandate and the plight of the hungry, not just in major cities but throughout the U.S.

How do you think they should go about informing various publics and what should they be saying to them? What appeals would motivate the various publics to action?
