Was this a movie or a nightmare?

I'm trying to figure out if this was a movie or just a nightmare that I had when I was a kid. It would have been sometime in the 80's, I think. Picture a woman sitting in front of a mirror in a dressing room or a bathroom. The narrator says, "Don't look up." The woman looks up, and there is this hideous, enormous fish-like thing with a giant, toothy mouth falling down from the ceiling towards her. In the soundtrack, a heart beats loudly in time with the opening and closing of those nasty, bloody jaws.

Sounds like a nightmare to me. I don't know many movies that have a narrator telling people things like that.
