    i can't connect to the internet on my desktop, but i can connect to the...

    ...internet with my laptop.? please help! my connection say that i'm not connected to my LAN, so my desktop can't connect to the internet, but somehow my laptop was able to connect to my wireless network. please help.

    You must have vista, it does that with some routers (including mine).

    You have to set up a static IP for your DESKTOP
    I would tell you instruction but you dont have the router info.

    hope this helps...


    (you can search on how to set a static IP for your computer on the manufacturer website of your router)

    ok sounds like a dumb question .. but you do have it plugged in ( the network cable to the Tower) if that is a yes then most likely it's a stacked winsock since clearly the router is working
