I think it's sad whenever you fall for anyone who's out of your reach. I've liked a straight girl before, and thankfully I didn't "fall in love with her." Usually, I don't like people that I know won't like me back. I just stay away.

It is torture. Really, it is. When a person is straight, they just are. Just as when a person is gay, that is who they simply are. So trying to change some one's sexual orientation is a waste of time and energy. And let's not overlook how sad it is to pine for someone who will never return your deep feelings.

My suggestion: When you know someone is straight- leave him/her alone! Don't pursue more feelings and entangle yourself in a mess. You can't waste time loving someone who obviously does not love you. Plus, you have to have more love for yourself to not enter into such a self-defeating situation.

I have done it and I will NOT ever go there again. Ouch, my bleeding heart!
