Verizon phone question?

Okay well I got my blackberry curve a couple weeks ago (which means i can still return it for another one). So now my mom is telling me she doesn't wanna pay 30 dollars a month just for the data plan for blackberry, which i agree is kind of outrageous. So my question is: what other really cool phones (smart-phones preferably) don't require a data plan? I've heard a lot of them do but i thought it was just for blackberry.

I had the Verizon touch (xv6900). It's a smart phone and didn't require a data plan.

All of Verizon's smart phones have to have a data plan which really sucks. Umm you should go with the LG Dare (I have one and I love it!), LG Voyager (had one, liked it a lot but it's really bulky), or a Samsung Glyde which didn't use to be any good but now they seem to have fixed all the bugs! So there ya go.

all smartphones probably require a data plan because theyo don't want u spending 2000 bucks or like 5000 bucks for just data its saving u money paying 30 bucks amonth.

well i would consider getting a prepay one which ofcourse requires no plan and get maybe the samsung juke, a motorola, or maybe a nokia they are all preety cute and well its very convinient for you.
