am traveling to norway for a summer holiday and need info?

thinking of flying to oslo then maybe one of the coastal resorts but would like info about places to stay, visit and where to avoid also how much is a meal for instance a lot to ask i know but would be grateful will be travelling august so what is weather like

I recommend the west coast over staying in Oslo, but I guess it depends what you want to see and do. Oslo is like a smaller, less beautiful Stockholm. It's okay, but the other major cities here are much nicer.

You could take the train trip from Oslo to Bergen, which is spectacular, and then fjord trips around the coast.

Geirangerfjord is further north, but incredibly beautiful:

Voss is also nearby, which is a small mountain town that offers all sorts of extreme sports in summer.

Without knowing where you plan to go, it's hard to recommend where to stay. Hotels are very expensive here. Guest houses (search gjestehus and city name) are usually the cheapest option, as even a private hostel room costs about 800kr.

You can find lunch specials starting around 65-85kr, which usually include a set menu and a salad bar. A main course for dinner starts around 80kr, and can be much more expensive. A typical 2-course meal out will cost maybe 250kr at the cheaper restaurants. Food can be found for slightly less if you search places around universities. Street food can be bought for under 50kr, but not from a chain pizza or fast food shop. A pint costs 55kr+.

Weather depends on where you are, and can change a lot. In general, it's warm (15-20C) and either rainy or sunny
