I have a 2008 mondeo1.8 diesel (3500miles) at 1250rpm whilst stationary It vibrates enough to shake out your fillings ( if it was a petrol engine I would say it was running on3 cylinders) the main ford agent says because there is NO warning light showing they cannot investigate it and not to worry. My last car was an 05 45,000m mondeo 2ltr diesel it was as sweet as a nut with no vibration. Is this inherent in the design and do I have to put up with this. Happy to receive any suggestions

Get a second opinion: It doesn't need a warning light on for you to tell that there's a problem, and it shouldn't be ticking over at 1250rpm in the first place.
