I am an exchange student fom Japan.and I'd like to know this:

why is it that when people think something is horrible or stupid, they say, "That's so gay" .

when they say that they mean something is wierd or random ..and they are using gay,.,insted of the right word,, knwing or not knwing that it is hateful thing to do,..

In America the word gay used to mean stupid now it doesn't but people just got so used to saying that it is instinctive and they don't even think about it. It realy sucks

Because some people think that gay people are stupid so they say " that's gay" like saying us people that are gay are stupid.

I'm from here and I don't even know why...one of my closest friends says it ALL the time, even though she knows I'm gayish lol...but she'll say "That's so gay with an 'h'!" ...because some people spell it "ghey" so that it's not as offensive as "gay" even though it should be. I mean, I really don't care that she says the word...it doesn't bother me that much but I don't say it myself.
