I've noticed a whining noise coming from underneath the hood right in front of the passenger side. When I accelerate the whining gets louder. Not sure if I have a water pump going or if the alternator is causing the noise. No battery light on the dash so I don't suspect the alternator at this time but that doesn't mean it's not wearing out. What is your suggestion on what it might be before I start replacing parts.
