    My daughter complains about her hair becoming stiff and wire like.Getting split...

    ...and weak.What can be the cause? If any doctor friends or any one who really knows the problem and remedy answers my querry, I will be very thankful to them.My daughter is very upset about her condition.Is it because of costal water or food or vitamin deficiency?What can be done now to improve the situation?

    She is probably damaging it. Tell her to not straighten or curl her hair as often and try and new shampoo/ conditioner.

    It could be her thyroid. She should go to the doctor and get blood tests.
    My sister has an over-active thyroid and her hair used to get like that and even fall out. She also had problems with her finger nails cracking and splitting. But, she is on Synthroid now and the symptoms have diminished. Hope that helps.
