is this acceptable behavior? is there a code of conduct in relationships?

Is it acceptable to ocassionally check your significant other's email, computer history, or cell phone when they have cheated on you several times in the past (including internet sex) and you only found out because you accidentally saw an open email? Even when you are committed, have forgiven them, and they agree that they want to earn your trust.

Is this ethical to do? Is it reasonable to expect that person to get upset at you?

How about just don't be with people who cheat on you, and you won't have to worry about it? It's not right to cheat on someone, but it's not right to snoop either.

I think since you forgave him you shouldn't be going on his email and stuff. When you forgave him you basically said you are now gonna trust him. And that isn't showing you trust him. I know it's hard not to look since he's done it before, but then maybe you shouldn't be with him if your doing this? Cause if I were him, I would get mad!
