umm so ive heard about the snakehead fish and are they dangerous?* wats good info about them? wat states are they in?

Most snakeheads get around 3'. The smallest variety is from Sri Lanka and stops at about 8" though every other variety I know of, and there are several, grow to around 3' and are very aggressive. They do have teeth and could injur a person though that's not really an issue and it's very rare to hear of anyone getting hurt by a fish. I wouldn't be concerned about this type of personal danger. Where they are extremely dangerous is to our ecosystem. They can easily handle temperatures in the low 50s, they are able to live outside of water for an extended period of time and destroy just about every water system they get into so please don't get a snakehead. They are also illegal in many states. They are fairly ugly. One common variety has some light reddish orange on it when it's small though this goes away as it grows and you end up with an ugly fish. If you want a similar shapped fish that if far more attractive and not as large though shares some of the preditory instincts get a pike cichlid. Be very careful to not let this fish or any fish in the wild because the pike cichlids form Uraguay can easily handle temperatures down to the upper 40's and all invasive species are very dangerous to our ecosystem.
