How can I put ring tones I want from my computer on to my Telus Razor2 V9M.?

hey so i just bought a new razor2 v9m and my cell phone carrier is Telus mobility. i have a micro sd chip that I'm using. I've chosen a song i want cut it down to like 30 sec and put it in my phone. It will only play it but i can't apply it as a ring tone? I've tried it in .mp3, .qcp. and .mid form but nothing. my phone will just play the file but can't apply it for a ring tone. any help here am i going something wrong? am i missing something?

I feel your pain, but TELUS phone software does NOT allow any customer-loaded tones to actually work as ringtones! You can put them on your phone but they will not work. There are software modifications for most phones to over-ride this but you may make your phone totally unusable if you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing. Warranty will NOT cover this. If you want a new tone then you have to buy it from TELUS.
