'92 ford taurus water pump?

With a little bit of skill and a Haynes manual, you can do this yourself, it is fairly easy and straightforward. You need a small collection of tools and some old fashioned gumption. A good re-built pump is available at most auto parts stores, although it is usually better to use a re-built one right from Ford. It has the best "do it just once" warranty. Remember to insist upon using only genuine Ford coolant and not the "universal" coolant found in most auto parts stores. It is a special formulation to prevent early deterioration of the expensive cooling system components. There is no such thing as a universal coolant; don't believe what they tell you at auto stores. And, yes, there is more than one coolant maker in the US. Don't be fooled. If you decide to have the job done, you should start by buying your own pump and coolant and shopping around for a shop that will install it for you. It shouldn't cost more than $100 labor on the 3.0 liter engine.Good Luck!1
