if you want a country run by religion, move to iran.?

it doesn't matter what religion is in charge - it will still be a theocracy. who wants that. seperation of church and state is needed.
hey ned f - i am used to it. but there are those that want this country ruled from a christian standpoint. that would suck...so... below me!

Iran is the best! I'm not even Iranian, but Iran is my favourite Muslim country (and then it is Malaysia). I tend to agree with the first answerer though: religion seems to do better when it is separated from the state, espcially if it is a corrupt state. If state is corrupt then no one will trust the religious institutions either since they are together. But it is a difficulty for Islam since we don't separate our life from Islam-it is impossible. The problem lies in the leadership not religion itself

No no no no, that's not how it works. just because a couple dozen atheists have swooped in and taken all that Christianity has created- this country- doesn't mean we are leaving. Remember the pilgrims came to America so that they can practice religion freely

No Thanks. I am a born again Christian that thinks the separation of Church and State needs to be exercised even more. Yes, I agree with separation of church and state.

All people should be in charge of a government, even those who don't maintain a majority. If people are properly educated then this could be achieved.

Sorry,Iran is not run purely by religion but by politics as well.Has separation of church and state worked in America? Not really,as Church wields considerable influence on the politics of the country and no non-believer can aspire for any public office there.

Separation of Church and State has allowed Religion to thrive in America, it is what's best.
