hello everyone
i am getting Pioneer VSX-1018AH 7.1 A/V Receiver can you please suggest me what kind of speaker and sub would go better with it in range of 1000 to 1500 i am going for 5.1 thanks

Go to bpav.com. Look at the Infinity primus speakers.
I have 4 P142
1 PC 250 center
1 PS 10 300 watt powered sub
Total about $650. I have not heard any better speaker system.
Good luck!!

"Sound & Vision" in the current issue lists what they think is the Best of the Year for last years gear. I strongly suggest you get a copy and see what the reviewers like.

You really need to decide: Music or Home Theater

Music requires very sensitive & accurate speakers. These are a lot more expensive.

Home Theater can get away with smaller, less accurate speakers, but a powerful subwoofer can create an impressive movie experience.

My advice:

- Buy speakers from a company where speaker building is their main job. This means NOT Sony, Samsung, Philips, etc.

- For home theater - look at the subwoofer first and perhaps put more of the budget into the sub. NOTE: You do NOT need to buy the sub and speakers from the same company.

I would look at a SVS Sound subwoofer, then buy some Polk RM, Energy, Definitive Technology, etc., speakers that used up the budget.

Note: The idea of 'matching' a receiver to speakers is more of a high-end music concept. That Pioneer should work great with about 90% of the speakers out there with little problems.

I think the above system would be great for you.

Another option is a KEF 3005 setup. Don't go for the 5000 it's a lower SQ IMO.

See if you can audition good brands in your area. Don't buy Bose they are overpriced bad speakers.
