Dose my mobile, NOKIA 1600 Vodafone, work in Japan?

Hi I am going to Japan soon and just wonder if my mobile will work there. According to Nokia's website, it is Dual-band GSM coverage (GSM E850/1900 and E900/1800). It's not 3G. If I have to get a mobile what function does it need? Please let me know!
