I own a Sony BDP-S1 blue ray dvd player with firmware upgrades and I was wondering if the new Sony BDP-S5000 ES offers a significant improvement? Also where could I find my very best discounted price on one of these?

no they are all the same allthough i find that the sony playstation 3 is the best blueray dvd player out there right now it outputs in 1080P and has the quikest reaction time
