Did you know you can cook your turnips in the microwave?

We all hate the peeling and chopping of a turnip or swede as it takes so long. Well, all you do is put the whole turnip in the microwave on a plate and cook for about 25 minutes. Be careful when you take it out as it will be hot. Slice off the top and scoop out your ready mashed turnip, it is delicious.

Does it not explode like unpiereced potato?

What about the wax coating on the outside? Does it not make a mess?

I was told to wrap it in a paper towel, that'll take care of the wax. I'm going to try this for supper tonight with our roast "beast"
