If you want to use XP there is no problem... but in some cases a new laptop with new chipset will have some problem with sound driver.

the recovery cd ussualy contains a OS that bundling with your laptop.. you can restore your laptop to it's original OS setting and condition for your laptop.

if you still want to use XP, make sure you have all the hardware drivers ready

my hard disk crashed i ordered a new one this morning now my problems are these.
1. before it crashed my notebook was running Windows Vista but i wanted to install Windows XP pro once i get the HD (because thats what i have) will that be a problem especially with the motherboard already having the settings of Windows Vista??

2. Whats the use of the Recovery application/ drivers CDs (2) that came with the Notebook when i bought it and do i need to run them on the new HD and if yes how do i run them??
Thanx guys
Thanx Posnya, can you explain to me how to use the recovery CD? i think i love that alternative better than that of Windows XP
