Mileage to change vw tdi timing belt?

I have a 2005 vw new beetle tdi with 58000 miles(automatic). What is the recommend mileage for changing the timing belt? What is the average cost of changing the belt? Manual is no where to be found. Thanks for your time and reply.

most people say between 80-100k. This is fairly important because the TDI is an interference engine meaning if the belt breaks there is a pretty good chance a valve is gonna make contact with a piston. I think most shops charge 4 hours labor for this and the belt and associated parts will run you around $150
