VSC light flashed on in my lexus what does that mean? ?

I couldn't unlock or lock the doors with my key. I had to manually open the door to with the key in order for it to open. I went to start my car and it wouldn't turn on. The only light that came on was 'VSC." I'm not sure what that means.

Is my car out of batteries?
