How do I fit the wing mirror unit to the door of my 2000 SAAB 9-3?

Broken unit is still on the car, I have a replacement unit ready to fit

To find out exactly how to do it, buy the relevant Haynes manual (http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&produ ctId=39801&langId=-1 ).

However, door mirrors on most cars fit the same way. I can't guarantee this is the right method for your car, but it should be close:

Wind down the window and open the door for easier access.
Carefully prise off the cover on the inside of the door ahead of the window to uncover the mirror mounting bolts.
    Disconnect any electrical connections.
Undo the (usually three) bolts that hold the mirror to the body and lift the mirror off.

Put the new mirror in place, re-do the bolts, reconnect the electrical connections, replace the interior cover.
    Job done.
