2001 vw beetle battery...?

My battery was completely dead. So my bf took it out and took it to the part store but they said it cant be charged and its a special battery. Something about needing the original battery or something and its gonna be hard to track down. Does anyone know what i'm looking for so i can start calling around to try and find this thing?

just go to auto zone or advance auto parts and buy the 3 year warranty new battery. so you will good for next 3 to 6 year.

Just call a dealership (google "VW Dealership -your area-" and call the number, as for the parts department, and they should be able to give you all the info on what kind of battery you need).

Also, if you have a CarQuest store near you, they've been the best for me at being able to special-order rare parts.
