Both can be very successful.
The key is paying customers.
At this time, according to Transport Topics, the industry is undergoing a period of adjustment. Over 2,000 trucking companies went bankrupt in 2008 representing 127,000 trucks. Many more just closed their doors.
It may be as bad in 2009.
I would recommend not quitting your day job yet (unless you have lots of paying customers).
