If i listen to those kind of music, am i indie?

And I actually like it and enjoy it. I'm 16 by the way so i dont know a lot of old rock

I listen to Hot Chip, The Libertines, The Shins, SHITDISCO, Jay-Z, The Beatles, Hadouken!, The Kooks, Babyshambles, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Interpol, Razorlight, The Streets, Sonic Youth...

But the thing is, I enjoy lots of other kind of music. Almost everything, I'm very open mid but I hate anything emo=ish
I know that Jay-Z isnt indie but I do like him a lot

It is good to be so open exspecially when it comes to music. However just becuz you really are enjoying a certain type righ tnow does not mean that you need to label yourself in any certain way. It' s music and you like ..

The Indie movement is more about spirit than genre. It sounds like you have a fairly eclectic taste. I don't think you could label The Streets as Indie either. But I bet you like some things that could be labelled emo-ish, right? Like Teenagers by My Chemical Romance? And Black Parade? Because I wouldn't consider myself a fan of theirs but I appreciate those songs to the point where I might even be able to force a grudging "Choon!" from my mouth. You might like N*E*R*D*, by the way

no your are not indie - indie is shortened from independent, and it describes the label a band is on so

are you a record label run by a few people -no so your not indie

btw your bands are crap, no being funny or nout, but try
    the music
    the dykeenies
    kasabian

    - only indie worth knowing

If you listen to rap and hip hop - does it make you black? If you listen to Frank Sinatra - does it make you old? Music does not make the person.
