HELP...Dormitory Gossiping?

At college, I told a close buddy of mine that I really good friend was irritating and annoying, rather than voicing my opinion to her. The buddy, who encouraged my gossiping, went back and told her...almost everything! Since then, we have not spoken. I apologized thrice, once offering a Christmas card explaining my mistake and asking for forgiveness in more detail. I tried to talk to her, but she simply ignores me. Now, I have to deal with the social dynamic that this has created in my dormitory. I feel a level of discomfort when she and my friends hang out. How can I be social in a group composed of an ex-friend? More importantly, what if she leads others to think I'm a gossiping freak? Thank in advance.
